Gamesauce Magazine
I collaborated with a seasoned game designer to create the look, feel, and tone of a new publication aimed at the people working in the trenches of the game design world. Gamesauce was launched to give coders, developers, and designers a voice in the industry. To reflect an appreciation of the roots of digital design, we experimented with bitmap imagery and typography and a bright but constrained color palette. The Emigre font, LoResTwelve, which emulates the early bitmap fonts of classic video games, helped give the magazine a nostalgic feel and communicated celebration of the origins of gaming.
